If you would like to help CAPNWP with a donation, please view our wishlists.
If you would like to volunteer at one of our camps this summer as a counselor or support staff member, please complete this Volunteer Application and three (3) reference forms. If you volunteered last year we only require one (1) reference form and ask that you complete the Returning Staff/Volunteer Application. We can't wait to have you with us this summer!
Dear Prospective Volunteer,
Thank you so much for your interest in volunteer ministry this coming summer! Volunteers are very much appreciated because they are central to the success of CAPNWP ministries at Lambec and Highlands. This letter contains information about CAPNWP volunteer service, how to apply and what you can expect before and during your service.
Because CAPNWP is are now using new record-keeping and training procedures to fulfill regulations and standards, all Youth Camp and Family/Adult Event volunteers are required to submit an application:
- Returning volunteers only need to complete the abbreviated Update Application for Returning Staff & Volunteers and supply one current Reference Form if they served during 2010.
- New volunteers need to supply a completed Application for New Volunteers and three Reference Forms and should attend one of several Volunteer Orientations this spring.
In both cases, the Program Coordinator or Chaplain of the program in which you’ll serve will contact you about the training and preparation he or she requires.
Here’s how to apply and what to expect:
1. Review the volunteer information on the CAPNWP website, www.capnwp.org, and check the dates and events in which you would like to serve. Select one or more events and volunteer positions of interest.
2. Please complete, sign and mail1 the appropriate Application Form directly to the CAPNWP Main Office (address above) as soon as possible – please do not give your application to someone else to pass it on. It is to your advantage to apply quickly – even if you’re unsure of your summer plans – because:
- The deadline for all volunteer applications is May 15th.
- If you’re a new volunteer, you’ll need to attend a Volunteer Orientation this Spring.
- Your Program Coordinator may ask all volunteers to meet or do other preparations this Spring.
3. Then complete the blank lines on page 1 of the Reference Form and give it to your reference(s) with the directions to mail1 it/them directly back to CAPNWP as soon as possible.
4. Volunteers are accepted if:
- Their Application, Reference(s) and background checks are satisfactory and on time.
- New volunteers attend a Volunteer Orientation this spring
- Returning volunteers attend a Volunteer Orientation once every three years.
- Their respective Program Coordinator accepts them.
- There are an adequate number of participants to justify the number of volunteers.
If accepted, you’ll first be contacted by phone or email. Then you will receive other paperwork which must be completed and returned to the CAPNWP office before your event begins.
Thank you very much! CAPNWP looks forward to receiving your application material soon and to working with you so that campers and guests will indeed be nurtured in faith, enriched in character and renewed in body and spirit.
In Christ’s Service,
CAPNWP Board of Directors and Leadership Staff
